THE GREAT EXIBITION SIGN ROYAL COLLEGE OF ART LONDON

THE RCA "GREAT" EXIBITION

I came across this design of typography in the design museum. I instantly fell in love with the creativity of the typography and the 3D effect in boxes, which build up a word. It was interesting to look at, as the words where literally jumping out at you. From far you where able to read the design but when i cam close it just looked like one design, which i also liked as it could be noticed as two things.

                                RON GILAD

When going to the design museum, i really liked the idea
of this piece, Wall Piercing. This sculptural lamp designed by Ron Gilad for Flos Soft Architecture fuses with the architecture in a simple yet effective way, is one of those products that can be understood immediately, as if they've always been there. Its interestingand ha a certain sleekness to it. Looking at this i think this idea could be used for my ceiling design making it 3D
The circular LED fueled lamp is beautiful by itself, it changesn colour for an impressive effect.

This was a quick wayfinding i created on the computer using photoshop to show where the canteen letters will be hanging from to create the illusion look .

         OUTSIDE DESIGN

Using the same design as the inside, i wanted to do the same outside. I wanted the outside design to be the same with the colors on the building. I did this because it all blended in better, and gave that edgy look to it .

I wanted to add more design to the inside building but also adding the cube chairs. I used black and white because of the colour of the chairs. Depending on the colour of the chairs i wanted the design on the walls and ceilings to reflect that.

CEILING PLAN USING PHOTOSHOP

Using photoshop, and playing around with fonts and how to emerge them somehow into the building, i started playing around with the letter "c". By using an effect called free transform, i started stretching out the letter "c" overlapping them and making them fit with the ceiling shape, which turned out into a design i am pleased with.

WAY FINDING USING PHOTOSHOP

Using photoshop I created a quick design of how i wanted my letters would be hung with invisible string to create an illusion. Each word will have a different colour but in the same font.
